It is with great enthusiasm and a commitment to serving the community I am proud to call my home that I am seeking to represent House District 6 as your Democratic candidate for State Representative.  Colorado’s House District 6 has a long history of electing gifted and committed leaders to represent us in our State Legislature who have done great things for the state and our community.  I look forward to following in their footsteps and to working with you and our other elected officials toward even better days ahead for Colorado.

I moved to Denver in 1992 and couldn’t imagine ever calling any other place my home.  In the past 15 years, like you, I’ve seen many changes in our community and state, most for the better.  I believe that under our current state leadership we are fundamentally on the right track as a state, but I believe we can do even better and that we must work harder to break through the partisan and bureaucratic gridlock to find creative, common-sense solutions to those challenges we do face.

I BELIEVE…

• Colorado should be a leader in public and higher education, preparing our students for the job market of the 21st Century.

• Colorado should be the Silicon Valley of Renewable Energy, leading the way for the nation in the development of renewable and alternative energy.

• Every Coloradan must have access to quality, affordable health care.

• Colorado must support the growth of local small businesses while also developing creative new programs to attract companies to expand into or relocate to Colorado.

• Colorado must develop a strategic, long-term fiscal plan that addresses the challenges we face today and builds a sound foundation for the future.

• Colorado needs and deserves leaders who bring their experience and expertise in the private sector to public service and who will build coalitions and consensus without compromising our core Democratic principles.

• Voters in House District 6 need a leader with the vision, commitment and ability to effectively represent them in the State House who will reach beyond partisan politics to find solutions that work and bring business and community leaders to the table in partnership with government to build bridges to even better days ahead for Colorado.

In the months ahead, I look forward to meeting you to share my vision for addressing the challenges that face Colorado and my ideas about what we can do to create an even brighter future for our community and future generations.
